As I have already told you in my previous posts, since I first tried Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil a few years ago, cleansing oil has become my favorite makeup remover method. Since then I’ve never turned back to wipes or lotions. So, I recently decided to try out a fairly new cleansing balm, the Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm by Clinique.
I have read a lot of good reviews about the Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm so I decided to purchase it and test it out for myself. I have to say that I am quite impressed by this product. The packaging is amazing. I consider it really cute and girly because it comes in a transparent lilac tub with a silver metal screw-on lid. The product itself is a white, thick textured balm that melts as soon as it comes in contact with the skin. I would say that the amount of product you get is enough, as you only need a tiny bit, and surely it will last you about three months.
How I use the cleansing balm
I use the Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm in the evening to remove my makeup, sunscreen and dirt. I take a pea sized amount of the solid balm with my finger, rub it in between my palms and then massage it on my face in circular motions. When my face and eyes make up breaks down, I use a warm muslin cloth to wipe away everything off my face. It removes even waterproof mascara!!! Although the balm rinses off easily, and completely removes any kind of residue, I then use my Clarisonic Mia 2 with the Shiseido Ibuki Purifying Cleanser.
I have oily/normal combination skin and the balm doesn’t make my T-zone greasier. I love how clean, fresh, soft and moisturized my skin feels after I use the balm. Moreover, the name “take the day off” of this balm is appropriate as it takes everything off, prepping your skin for your evening skincare routine.
How to Use
- Use your fingertips to massage the balm over your dry skin.
- Rinse well with warm water.
- Pat dry.
The Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm is a lightweight cleansing balm that quickly dissolves stubborn/waterproof eye and face makeup, including those with sunscreen. Transforms from a solid consistency to a silky oil upon application. Therefore, it is a non-greasy, non-drying product that leaves your skin thoroughly clean and is appropriate for all skin types.
